The W-170 has also a Full HD Still ready (1080), that means you can see a 16:9 pictures on a HDTV Tv's. (special cable required), Faces and Smile Shutter, and Carl Zeiss lens. Sony is not my choice, its lacks reliability. I don't know about Samsung cameras. Make your decision based on this information and everything you know about the Samsung model you want.
