Christians, have you ever experienced tribulation (not small problems) in this world?

Tribulation means grievous trouble; severe trial or suffering. I suppose people who get cancer or have lost a close loved one to cancer such as a child could be considered having this kind of trouble. Also other diseases as aids. Then there's the loss of a child through freak accidents. There are also nasty nasty divorces and relationship problems where one kills the other, etc, etc. I personally have not had severe trials only small ones.
