What is a good career to get into after age 50?

Unemployed, have IT background but obsolete now. Burt out so do not have the pion of IT anymore. Very keen to do Practical Nursing, but not sure if I will manage the course load and the fees. Should I just take up a Retail job and earn minimum wage? How about extended health benefits? Will I be covered at Retail positions?
