Why would he rush to bandage up a wound?

One day at work I cut my finger somehow, and I was bleeding. one of my good male friends rushed to get a bandaid (it's not like the blood was gushing) and he unwrapped it and put it on my finger. i said thanks and he said " no problem, I will help with the bandaid but i won't kiss a bloody finger better" lol totally understandable in my opinion. Anyways, he has great relationship with his girlfriend so i would never make a move, but i'm wondering if anyone sees this situation as flirting? or would you just say hes a really awesome and attentive person? thanks
